Gospel Nerve is officially taking a break from the PRO Series, just to ensure that we set this season off just right. It’s Christmas Season and with it usually comes so much work and the spending of so much money.
This year let’s begin with something a little less expensive, Christmas music. Take it upon yourself to set the Christmas atmosphere where ever you go. Bring your own joy and bring your own music. So many times we rush through this season, we barely even smell the air or drink in the truth of what it really is: A holy and a beautiful time to slow down (not speed up) and enjoy people and the music and giving and laughter.
Let’s start now. Go gather together your favorite 12-25 Christmas songs (to begin with). If you swear you hate Christmas music begin with something like itunes where you can search by the song (not the album) and pay for what you really want. There is probably a Christmas song in your style. Consider:
* Patti Labelle singing “Nativity”
* The Temptations singing “This Christmas” (& nobody does it better!)
* Boys to Men singing “Let It Snow”
* Dianne Reeves singing “This Time of Year”
* TLC singing/rapping “Sleigh Ride”
* Mary Mary singing “Carol of the Bells”
* Mariah Carey singing “All I Want for Christmas”
* Luther Vandross singing “This is Christmas”
Enjoy your search for the best Christmas song collection and set the atmosphere where ever you go. Be natural, be you and the people around will catch on (and enjoy the atmosphere you set). Start with music always playing in your home.
